In 2005, the annual Let's Think Pajama Party was established. It was kicked off with a special ribbon cutting ceremony with several dignitaries including Toledo's First Lady, Cynthia Ford, Donna Owens, Mrs. Ohio, Kim Zielinski, and many local breast cancer survivors. Featured during the Pink Pajama Party was comedian Leslie Norris Townsend. A former beauty queen, she had the audience in utter laughter with her good clean wit about marriage, motherhood, women's balancing acts, and more with her Lighten Up and Laugh! show. From a grand finalist on Star Search to national appearances on network TV, she is now the producer and host of the regional Dream Big talent show on NBC, FOX, and others. Pink flowers, pink chairs, and pink balloons set the stage for almost 300 guests. Several Vendor Booths were filled with a variety of items to provide additional entertainment outlets. Vendor's included: Gallippo's, who displayed evening gowns; the Optical Shop, That Special Woman, the Female Investment Group, Dia Day Spa, and Body and Soul! At midnight all gathered together for a warm-hearted Pink Lighting Ceremony - in honor of all women! |
